Dr. Eberwein is a psychotherapist and marriage counselor residing in Macungie, Pennsylvania. He has twenty-plus years of clinical experience, which were accumulated in a wide-range of settings, including hospitals, Child Development Centers, psychiatric facilities and drug & alcohol treatment centers. Eberwein has earned two clinical psychology master’s degrees from Long Island University and Fielding Graduate University. Other degrees are: Bachelor of Arts from Northern Arizona University (Clinical Psychology and Theater Arts) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PhD) from Fielding Graduate University (APA certified program. Lifetime member of the International Honor Society in Psychology).
Eberwein’s training and educational experiences include working with top psychologists in Pennsylvania and California. His skills were honed at Sylmar Rehabilitation near Los Angeles -a private psychiatric facility for those considered “a danger to themselves or others," and, later, his practicums and externships were at State Hospitals and residential facilities for troubled youth- where he specialized in severe psychosis, trauma and neglect. After working at both Allentown State Hospital and "Kidspeace Residential Hospital," Eberwein completed his training with an internship at Pennsylvania Counseling Services which involved individual and group therapy for children, families and individuals with a wide range of diagnoses- including substance abuse, dual diagnosis and liaison with the courts, police, parole, probation and social service systems.
Eberwein founded and directed a community counseling center (Abundant Life Counseling Services-Emmaus) from 2005 to 2012 that interfaced with churches and the adoptive community. This counseling center launched Eberwein's acute interest in the interaction of Christianity and psychoanalytic concepts. He has presented seminars on Intersubjective theory.
